I know the BBC isn't the last word on forecasting by any means, but the fact that their long range forecast now passes the summer solstice and still not showing anything settled or hot (vaguely warm at best) is really getting me down. Mid june and my doors and windows are all shut, I'm juggling work with trying to keep my 1.5 year old entertained stuck in the house......she should be roaming around the garden playing with water and garden toys. Maybe I should start thinking about how I'll make Christmas amazing.
The weather will probably be warmer at Christmas........

23 air and water temperatures in Frankfurt this lunchtime, had a fine swim in the village 50m outdoor pool (on my own). Very very pleasant.

Pretty nice here in Gran Sasso National Park, Italy. Same latitude as Rome, so about halfway down.

Not super warm, mid to high 20s each day, just right. I do get the feeling that even they aren’t escaping the weird weather, it might even dip into single figures overnight later in the week.
Great pic, and what a perfect car to explore the region.

Almost to the day, back in 2013, we were staying in Santo Stefano di Sessanio and we spent a day exploring the Gran Sasso. Our mode of transport was somewhat less appropriate:-

In other news, the heating is on irked

I heard on the radio that United Utilities in the NW were advising people to be mindful of water usage and limit hose usage. WTAF, we’ve had to wettest 18 months on record and it shows no sign of stopping.

The UK is beyond broken, and the weather just adds to the misery of being here.

I didn't even give it a second thought this morning - warm tracksuit bottoms, hoodie and dressing gown for the early morning with our daughter.

Our company is going to Taste London tomorrow with loads of clients, an event that usually you'd rely on it being hot, sunny, shorts, flip flops.....that sort of vibe. And it's the time of year where the answer to Mrs UTH's "what's for dinner tonight" is simple - a BBQ of some sort.

But no, it's looking fairly likely to rain tomorrow, with a max of 17 degrees, and the only thing making me think that perhaps a BBQ might be an option tonight is that it looks like it MIGHT not be raining. But it will be pretty cold and cloudy.

12th June FFS. I think I've given up expecting anything better than this for 2024. At least the lack of miles added to the Corvette this year will possibly mean its value stays the same or goes up. No wonder there's a generally miserable feeling in the UTH household at the moment.
