Which aftershave do you use?
Discussion
A recent HotUK Deal (great app) saw me order Tom Ford Costa Azzura 100ml + 10ml for just £80, but required an extra purchase to activate the offer.
Perfume Shop then decided TF was out of stock, funny that, so have ended up with 50ml of Drakkar Extreme for £9!
Only had a quick spray but seems to be pretty decent - very barbershop/ classic aftershave type vibe, at least for
Me
I have Maison Margiela Autumn Vibes for sale if anyone’s interested. About 90-95ml left, boxed, £55 delivered.

We're currently playing around at work with Penhaligans fragrances. We're testing the effects of the fragrances on different personality types.
We started researching how scents affect women to an astonishingly higher level than men. So, considered that if we have somebody out visiting clients, who is male then given the overwhelming majority of those visits are with females we want the smell correct!
Running Halfeti as a first test over many months gave an immediate response in sales conversion rate. This was thorough though, bodywash, moisturiser and the scent.
We are now playing around with other scents (14 in total) from Penhaligans to see how the affects may differ.
We are testing in house among a myriad of female and males for initial reaction. Logging how the scent is when first received and then as it develops.
It's been fascinating. For one example, yesterday for one particular female she literally went from being repulsed at first to, @1hour later as it developed being aroused!
Whereas a female who sits next to her and usually likes the same was completely cold to it.
We're logging the results.

Eau the Audacity
Then today's test 'The Tradegy of Lord George'.
First impression was 'meh' from three of the ladies. Then after about 1 hour for two of them it has very much grown on them with the third still 'meh'
I haven’t tried any of the new potion ones - any good? Then today's test 'The Tradegy of Lord George'.

Penhaligon’s sent me a free discovery set of it, but I sold it !

I think the vetiver is a fresher drier version of the classic; I prefer the spicier classic.
Perhaps I got the classic as a sample. Been wearing it today. It's growing on me. It's ok when it's been on a while. The opening is like a big spicy orange
My only moan: the price.

That's a lighter fresher vetiver scent.

I usually judge by receptionists or secretaries at work saying "you smell nice".
TBH, it's usually the mass appealing people pleaser fragrances that do the best. But
Going through duty free just now and lacking inspiration for something to try I spied Acqua di Gio and Profumo next to each other. One squirt on each wrist.
I’ve not worn Acqua di Gio for at least 20 if not 25 years. My overwhelming memory of it is overpowering sweet citrus. The citrus is still there, but it doesn’t seem as cloying or overpowering as I remember. Is it my memory failing, has the recipe changed or did I not pour it on like 18 year old me would have done?
Profumo is quite nice, if not a bit generic. Reading poor reviews of its longevity though.

Funny you say that I’m wearing Profondo today - it’s burning off me at such a rate I think I’ll sell it.
I think some scents I do seem to absorb or burn off more than others , shame as it smells so fresh.
Anyone got JPG Beau Paradise Garden ? New release really good reviews but can’t get it anywhere at the moment. Will do a blind buy i think.

I picked up their Portraits scent library the other week which is my first experience with Penhaligan. I've got to say, I'm about 4-5 scents in and I'm not massively impressed. Interesting to see it mentioned how they evolve as I've found them not long-lasting at all. Then today's test 'The Tradegy of Lord George'.

As a comparison, I've got some Creed samples and the same number of squirts from one of those will last twice as long as the Penhaligans.
Nice variety of scents however and some really interesting ones I just wish they lasted longer.

I have tried I think every men’s Penhaligon’s and most of the unisex ones too. They are massively hit or miss. As a comparison, I've got some Creed samples and the same number of squirts from one of those will last twice as long as the Penhaligans.

Of the portraits the long lasting and nice ones I find are George, Sohan (very oudy I didn’t keep it long but it is nice) and Duke.
Teddy pretty long lasting too but I’m not sold on it. Sam is really nice but doesn’t last long.
William smells amazing lasts 5 minutes.
Most of the others I’ve only had samples of but weren’t worth a buy.
The portraits mansion when on sale, is worth purchasing. For about £90 you get 8x 10ml - you can sell the ladies ones and make back about £60 of that, so you can have men’s for a decent price.
Think I bought 20 packs in total !!
Update then,
On the below all three ladies in my office unanimous.
Sam - all ladies thought it was aggressive. Decided that if they went on a date with a guy that smelt like that they'd assume he wanted to get in their pants.
William - great if you're over 70 and still a bit dapper.
Liquid Love = gross. Hated it.
Teddy - again, horrible evolving into 'meh'
Arthur - 'panty dropper'
We're benchmarking against Halfeti and Halfeti leather. Just fyi.
Can't remember with others are on the list but if anyone is interested I'll check the results on our log and report back.
Fwiw - all three are very different personalities. Not alike at all.

So what you're saying is, if you wear Arthur, you'll be a lucky LuckyThirteen? On the below all three ladies in my office unanimous.
