The death of Anthony Gobert is being discussed on Biker Banter. Australian Superbike and GP racer in the 90s.
Talented but troubled.

RIP.
He was great to watch back then but as you say he was troubled.
Agreed, very talented, but a rollercoaster of a life.
I remember he arrived as a wild card in WSB, then took over from Scott Russell on the Kawasaki before heading off to GPs and then being sacked. Years later he was back in WSB on a slow Bimota which he took to a win in the rain of Philip Island.
I saw last week it was announced he was in palliative care and despite his 'troubles' that was still a shock to read.
RIP The Go Show.

For younger readers, they had a hit single with a song with the line "uh-huh".

Loved this tune when I was a kid.

It’s difficult to ‘Unser’ this, though…

I was getting confused with his female alter ego (we all have one - so I've been told ) smile

I remember some of his films being reviewed on TV by Barry Norma.

Just found out Pluto Shervington died at the weekend. Noteworthy to me since his song "Dat" made it to #6 in the charts in 1976 and was the first Reggae single (of what became many) the 11 year old me ever bought.

There were many records which the BBC chose not to play at the time, but which they will now play without any issue. Corporate governance and guidelines change.

Relax was played on Radio Nottingham the other day, and the DJ said that Hollie Johnson had told him the real story behind the song. Personally, I doubt it to be true, but who cares - everybody wins when a song is banned smile .
