I only got the word from an old carpenter's song and film I saw once, Princess and the frog I think ![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
Now you say that I have the song in my head despite thinking I’d never heard the word before !!![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
If you're of a certain age you'll have heard it a few times.

What is everyone's guess distribution? Most of mine are either four or 5, with some threes and a handful of sixes. My wife has got two in two
I would suspect that was mostly luck though, but don't tell her I said it.
Fairly even between 3-5, some 6, a few 2's. Today was a 6.![yikes](/inc/images/yikes.gif)

The 1 was when it changed over to NY Times for me too.

1 - 1![yikes](/inc/images/yikes.gif)
2 - 8
3 - 34
4 - 46
5 - 24
6 - 8
The 1 was one time when they had changed the list and I refreshed to test the "new" right word I think.

I’ve had 5’s that have been luck! Logic/word formation will take you an amount of the way, but when there are multiple choices for missing letters luck will generally play a part.![yikes](/inc/images/yikes.gif)

When you have two guesses left but three potential words to try...My distribution is:
1: 0
2: 7
3: 39
4: 64
5: 28
6: 14

All but one of my "fails" came early on, before I had properly read the instructions so was "wasting" guesses, and also before I was informed about the ability to change the colours in the settings to suit my colourblindness. Breaks in my "streak" since then have mainly been down to missing a day's play rather than getting it wrong. Once I understood what the coloured squares meant, and tweaked the settings so they made sense to my faulty eyes, it was plain sailing mostly.
My "starter" guess words?
I began using OPINE and MAUVE, but have taken to starting with PILOT and MAUVE now to avoid duplicating the 'E'. I'm aware that this wouldn't be possible if I knocked the difficulty up to "hard" but I'm happy playing the standard level so far.

Colour blind here too, but don't have a problem with the standard colours. My starters are usually races or, if I am feeling brave, dream. Have been known to use audio, but often feel let down by it...
AUDIO is my first word, second word used to be CHEST to get the E, but that was a word a while ago (one of my 2 scores) so I just use it for Quordle/Octordle/Sedordle now.Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
