2020 Google Pixel Buds £179...

Ok my £20 wireless headphones have just packed in, I have all the other Google kit so splashed out on these (they went on sale yesterday)... reviews aren't great so if they aren't as good as was hoping will send them back.

You’ve made me think that I need a conversation piece in the house when I move, the question is what though, a Horus guard helmet from SG1 appeals, but not cheap!
Weirdly there is one up for auction at Propstore at the moment...

https://propstoreauction.com/view-auctions/catalog...

The definition of 'not cheap' right there, but it is screen worn. You don't tend to lose money on stuff like this though, not a bad investment in the long term really, assuming you ever sell on. Me personally I have hoarder tendencies and don't like parting with things, especially props. I did make an exception for a truly hideous lamp that was screen used in the original Hulk movie. It was quite possibly the ugliest prop known to man and I had no second thoughts about donating it to a charity auction.

Of course if you don't want to drop stupid money on a screen used there are always prop makers doing runs of this kind of stuff. If you aren't a member of The RPF get yourself on there.
I notice that it didn’t sell at the auction, LPS know how to charge, that’s for sure. The estimate price to give it some correlation is 1/4 of the deposit I’m putting down on my first house!

A signed photo of a scene from 2001, by Gary Lockwood and Kier Dullea.

Very poor pic - I’ve not hung it up yet, but it’s awesome

I laughed at that more than I should have. Possibly because I was thinking of inserting an armory scene behind me for the next zoom call.
I’d been doing maintenance checks on my bows and thought they were off screen on a zoom call, I was wrong. I got told to ensure they were not seen on the next one!

Apparently having 5 bows is classed as excessive by my colleagueslaugh

Good job the rifles were still in storage and the knives were in the display case.
I'm quite careful on this, make sure everything is locked away before calls, or that I can at least put it on the floor with a blocked line of sight to it in case I do get called. Not sure what the reaction to a detail stripped AR-15 or three would be.

This was a frivolous purchase who looms over me in video conferences. Quite a useful icebreaker at times.

For anyone looking for the Glock-A-Like this is the closest I could find retailer in the UK.

https://www.defconairsoft.co.uk/product/umarex-glo...

no extra mag that I can see though so separate. Tempted...

Edit: I forgot about the new laws in the UK regarding air guns. They seem to cover this though by offering to paint the gun bright colours?

Now this has me thinking of this scene!

I wonder if a Mag Acc gun exists as a prop to buy?

Bought a pair of new (physical) number plates for the car as the front one is starting to delaminate. The rear one is mounted over the hole for the rear towing eye so it may be useful for it to be easily removable instead of using a few yards of 3M tape.
So a new pack of screws and caps is required.

biggrin This is what £5.98 buys you on eBay:

That’s not frivolous, it’s always useful to have plenty of spares, I had to improvise with a wood screw a few weeks ago when I swapped a plate!

Two woodburning stoves.

In a house that has a new, state of the art, wi-fi controlled heating.

Justification? When the zombie army comes in the post=COVID apocalypse, and infrastructure collapses,I will be able to stay warm in winter. Which will be irrelevant, as I live in London so would have been eaten by then, I suspect.

So I bought an upgraded intercooler for my car that it didn't need, but it was a bargain so why not. When fitting it, I snapped a rear spring. So had a look round and I've also got a misty shock.

So the obvious solution is to replace all the OEM suspension with fully adjustable coilovers. was only a little bit more than standard stuff would be hehe

Good question re the spring snap. It was the passenger rear that snapped, and I'd just jacked up the drivers side front so more pressure on that spring and must've been fatigued. Obviously made a lot of heat when it snapped as it smelled like burning, which gave a bit of panic as I'd no idea what happened hehe

Thankfully it was the rear and it didn't stab the tyre or anything!

It's futureproofing it, really, and I can change the softness for those bumpy roads/long journeys. Not that I'm looking at wheels and and LSD soon, of course.... hehe
