I know what you are getting at. But I have to sympathise with her - it's the most important day of her life and she wants it to be perfect.

The girls are all in agreement too so it can't just be one fussy bride!

Zippee - just South of the Bedfordshire border now. Thanks very much for the offer, however fortunately we have a family friend doing it for free!

We got ours from Coast in MK.
Actually having just spoken to her I tell a lie. The green ones were from Coast and like you they had only 1 in the country of the size we required (needed 2 size 8s).
The pewter ones actually came from House of Fraser in MK and were Ariella.

Kind of, but I can see her point. They need to perfect, especially for photos. Ones she does like are £175 each!
good luck

My point (which clearly I did not make!) is that she has been to most bridal stores in our area, all the high street alternatives (Monsoon, Coast etc) and can't find anything.
Point of order old boy. She's found plenty of dresses. Hundreds, possibly thousands of dresses. Oh, she's found them alright. But the fussy bh still can't decide what's right for her - none of the thousands she has seen are good enough for her special day.

What does this tell you? It tells me you're in for a lifetime of pain my friend. A lifetime of pain.

My missus bought material and got her bridesmaids to either make or have their dresses made. This meant they chose the style that suited them, but it looked great as they all had the same material.

Bit pricey, but worked well.

She thought it was a good idea after being bridesmaid for a friend, and all three bridesmaids had very different shapes, so the same style dress looked great on one girl, but not so great on the others.

ahh... so you'll be turning up in a white suit, with top hat and a pink cravat and waist coat...

and if you dont - you'll have ruined her day!

We are jusst having them made as it means she gets what she wants.

Hardest thing is trying to get the fat bridesmaid to get measured.

When did she start? yikes

With respect, it is the most important day of her life, because it's when she makes a commitment to spending the rest of her life with you. Not because that's the only day she's going to see her bessy mate in a green frock.

It's just a party.

Has she considered Debenhams? They do a decent bridesmaid range.

We got them from EBay too - it was 5 years ago so I have no idea which EBay shop in particular.

Too expensive, wrong style, winter colours still in the shops...you name it, it caused a problem. Not least we have 2 girls size 8 and 2 girls size 12-14....

Anyway, without being able to be specific other than preferred colour (minty green), are there any girls/boys who have managed to source dresses from unlikely places. Or does anyone have any contacts who make them?

In Hertfordshire.

Cheers!
Selfridges. The missus found some £900 "Amanda Wakley" (sp?) dresses for £190 in a sale that wasn't on at sale time. Regarded it as bit of a lucky find smile Seemed to work well : http://tinyurl.com/dmkhkq

Rude Girl - 20 weeks must be wrong then as the wedding is early August, which according to my calendar is just over 4 months away.

The dilemma is when the cut-off point is at which she stops looking in the shops and tries to get them made.

Zen.

One of the perks of being a guy.

Just make sure that you acknowledge it in your Wedding Speech. It's the done thing.
