Not sure if this counts..

me and my other half have been out of work since March 2020, thanks to the bd bug. I had a perfectly reasonable 2016 Civic Diesel which returned 75mpg if driven carefully. The sun had been shining quite nicely in June so i decided i needed something where i could take advantage of such weather.

so, i chopped in my ideal economical family commuting car for something less sensible..

3.0 inline 6 cylinder twin turbo petrol, with no rear seats and a boot not even big enough for a cat basket.
Lovely, a 35 Z4 is on my 'to do' list at some point. Cracking colour, too.

If you're the sort that gets bored, have a look at MHD remaps. Fairly safe (thousands of folk using them), can be done via your phone and with some basic bits can see you an extra 100HP for a couple hundred squid. Completely changes the N54!

Thank you for your kind words. I wasn't even in the market for a z4, i was looking for a convertible 135i and this came up, went to see it, had to have it cloud9

I have a tuner with rollers that i've used on the VXR, S3 and civic who is chomping at the bit to work on the Z4.

Don't worry... engine and DCT box maps are in the pipeline, i just want to get used to the car as it is before i start making it a beast smile

Software alone it looks like 365bhp is obtainable smile

I dip in and out of this thread for reasons I know i'd end up bankrupt. Would someone please link me up to the Glock A Like BB gun? Any issues with it getting through customs or delivery?

Do I have an equal chance of a couple of CID turning up at the door?
I would also like to know the above (for a friend).

Box of Jubilee clips, 50 pieces for £5.

Last time I used a Jubilee clip was 40 years ago

I bought a box a couple of years ago for a plumbing repair, didn’t use them in the end and the box has never been opened!

Good stuff! The N54 is a peach, I didn't realise that this generation Z4 came with it until a couple months ago & now it's firmly in my sights. Slightly lighter than the 3 Series, too! I'm sure you've done your research but make sure you keep on top of maintenance and prepare for the typical expensive bits that go wrong!

And she was, but she left me hanging on the line...

Things like jubilee clips always going to come in useful eventually so I don't think they count as frivolous, not unless you promise to come back in 7 years time when you use them and admit you are were wrong to call them frivolous.

My life is quite boring.
I don't go out much, I'm not a powerfully built business woman. I don't really wear watches. But I find myself with a new Apple Watch (only a series 3 so not as frivolous as it could have been).
My theory is it will stop me having to dredge through my handbag when the kids send me 300 bloody messages. Also. It's got a Toy Story face. biggrin

Spent most of last night piszing about on the walkie talkie harassing my son. He's rueing the day I tell you hehe

Some of those prices for LRs are bonkers and that's before the 20% VAT and 10% Buyer's Fee is added. I'd love one of the Pinzgauers but that extra 30% on top of the hammer price just pushes the prices too high.

Well, that aside whistle

Has had to take a bit of a back seat though, with husband working from home the ideal place to put his desk was in the Star Wars room so it's become more than a little cramped in there now. I'd planned to try and pick up another mannequin or two for other costumes but obviously this cant happen now.

I could shove him upstairs but that means losing my craft room and I don't want to do that, besides, the look on peoples faces when he goes into Zoom calls with Han in Carbonite and a Biker Scout stood behind him is quite special biggrin

You’ve made me think that I need a conversation piece in the house when I move, the question is what though, a Horus guard helmet from SG1 appeals, but not cheap!

I laughed at that more than I should have. Possibly because I was thinking of inserting an armory scene behind me for the next zoom call.

I’d been doing maintenance checks on my bows and thought they were off screen on a zoom call, I was wrong. I got told to ensure they were not seen on the next one!

Apparently having 5 bows is classed as excessive by my colleagueslaugh

Good job the rifles were still in storage and the knives were in the display case.

It would be a mistake to compare your life as it is, with the digital illusion that many forum members attempt to project. Mostly they're farties with little life and usually a good deal less money to spend than they would have you believe.

Weirdly there is one up for auction at Propstore at the moment...

https://propstoreauction.com/view-auctions/catalog...

The definition of 'not cheap' right there, but it is screen worn. You don't tend to lose money on stuff like this though, not a bad investment in the long term really, assuming you ever sell on. Me personally I have hoarder tendencies and don't like parting with things, especially props. I did make an exception for a truly hideous lamp that was screen used in the original Hulk movie. It was quite possibly the ugliest prop known to man and I had no second thoughts about donating it to a charity auction.

Of course if you don't want to drop stupid money on a screen used there are always prop makers doing runs of this kind of stuff. If you aren't a member of The RPF get yourself on there.

I could absolutely make a case for painting a wall behind the computer green just to assist with this.
biggrin
