Let’s hope Tuesday improves the general moods in the Towers. Have a good day.

Good morning everyone. A trimestriellement visit to my doctor this morning after having a vampire session last Saturday. Results are showing all is well so hopefully just a top up of blood test prescription along with the usual tabs for diabetes.

I’ve a stomach scan result to discuss with him along with a heart test result from last January which arrived with an appointment for this November back at the ticker docs. Why? It doesn’t say so that a question to ask at least.
Historic asbestos of some sort was found in my stomach scan but the man says nothing to worry about and all my organs show no lesions etc and are all good.
The building trade! What a wonderful dust free environment in wasn’t.

Grey sky at the moment but forecast showing no rain. Warm enough like.

Walkies and hedge cutting when back from docs.

Cheers

Fout.

A much better night's sleep, only awake a couple of times, still tired but a huge improvement over yesterday.

Re the whole parking issue, the Ladybower Inn was a decent place to eat with good food, just a shame that nobody told us about the parking, glenrobbo has been there many times in the past and was completely unaware of the change, 3 of us walked out of the carpark and back in after eating without seeing signs, my issue is with that and the staff not saying anything.

Today will be interesting as I'm hosting a major customer on site to review product process due to issues with quality, I'm not doing it solo but still daunting for me.

Had a bike ride yesterday (almost 60km).
With a mate.
Who I hadn’t seen since we were school kids, over 40 years ago.
Great day out.

'Spoons?

'Spoons?

Why exactly are you not dining in the PH 200 Month Club?

That is to say, dining and enjoying the other benefits as well.

Or did you just presume the Rolex was a mistake and kept quiet about it?

Start decorating the en suite today. It’s showing a few small cracks and needs a freshen up. Should only take a couple of days as it’s white ceiling and white walls so I can slap it on without too much finesse (no change there then). Mrs H is working today and the weather is yet again rubbish so a good time to lock myself in with a good dose of Planet Rock……party on dudes.

A quick shufti at tripadvisor confirms that the Ladybower Inn is not a welcoming place

Mrs Brassington? You scoundrel. If you deny me the Greenfield girls as Betty and First Reserve Betty I'm going to take my Wurlitzer and go.

Not so trivial...Sold my house. Guy came around yesterday evening desperate to see it, missed it when we bought it. Sent him off to see the Estate agent, came around, loved it, bought it full price...

So probably get summer here and then...
Byker, I'm both glad and sad for you.
Glad that a prospective buyer has come along and is willing to pay the full asking price, but sad you've been forced to sell up the place you are so fond of due to an unfair change to the local taxation system.
It can hardly be called a holiday home, because you and your family seem to spend more time there than your place in Wiltshire.
Enjoy the rest of your time there, and best of luck with the conveyancing process. I hope it all goes smoothly.

Asha & the grandkids are gonna miss all those exciting adventures and the beautiful scenery.

It's a double edged sword.
I can't help but think we're being forced out down to a greedy council abusing a Senedd policy addressing a problem that doesn't really exist in Pembrokeshire. We've lived there mostly for the last 6 years, invested in the property, the community, the lifestyle and the language.

There's no limit to council tax rises, so it went up 16.3% this year, and then a 300% premium on top. Despite having Wiltshire registered as a second home they wont allow me to claim Pembroke as primary because they claim Wiltshire is 'family' because daughter and grandkids are nearby. Ignoring youngest in in Belgium and eldest in the US or somewhere else in the world generally.

So, we'll bail out, take the money and work out what next, just because it's easiest, and at the moment we need to be around for the Grandkids more. I'm trying to say it's the start of a new adventure but...

When it's gone and we've got the money, we'll take stock, but it'll probably mean the other house will get sold as well next year and we'll go somewhere else, won't be Wales though, see whats left over and if I retire, or when I can retire.

I read this on that other thread Mike. Must of been a bit strange after all those years.
My lifelong pal and his wife arrive here with us in France next Monday for a week. More like a brother really.
