In 3 for me. I can honestly say I have never heard of the word, but the letters I did get only led to to this one possible combination and lo and behold it was actually a word!

I got it in 3 also, but had the 3rd and 4th letters from the first guess and after using S and D on the last letter for the first two guesses that wasn't that much left you could end it with so just went for the Greek philosopher as only thing that sounded sensible to fit.

For those with throw away guesses to get rid of letters, I have recently moved to hard mode, and I miss being able to do that, had a lot of last guess luck this week.

The Greek philosopher was my inspiration too. Lol.

My usual opener served me well but then I struggled to capitalise on it.

4 for me today, lines 1 and 2 got a couple of hints, used the throwaway word technique properly for the first time line 3.
Lucky guess, could only sensibly be one word from there.

Never used a throw away word. I don't understand it, just use a word that has the right letters. I think Hard mode forces you to do that anyway. Not that I have it turned on, but I am lead to believe that's what it does.

Does anyone do the Quordle? You get 9 attempts to get four words, but the guess applies to all of them.

Then there is the lewdle, which is only rude words.

Yes I do Quordle, Octordle (8 in 13 attempts) and Sedordle (16 in 21 attempts).

Today's Wordle in 3 I'm pretty sure it's American spelling

I put in a "rude" word for today's Wordle. I had a choice of two words for my third choice and and chose the "rude" one, pretty sure I'd get it wrong, but the naughty schoolboy in me made me put it down. It was only one extra line so worth it laugh .

The idea of lewdle appeals, I'm going to try that.

Looked it up, the spelling I'm thinking of is the British spelling, and 'less correct' than the word in the game

Edit: you may be right with the different words today https://www.theguardian.com/media/2022/may/09/new-...
