Alright, who was supposed to be on page 2 duty?

Security tags are powered in the same way as credit card chips.
That should have dawned on me before, the number of times one of us passes the gatehouse at the end of the main drive and sets off the alarm. And Frank Admissionnes complaining about being woken up.

Mrs C and I are enjoying cocktails in the East Wing.

No.

Mrs C and I are enjoying pre-dinner drinks in the orangery.

No.

Mrs C is having a G&T and I'm having a beer. We're in the extension watching some masterful flying by the local red kites. They've driven away the sparrowhawks. And eaten everything else.

My dad, a lifelong aeronautical wallah, enjoyed watching birds flying.

Well we're back in Buxton after an excellent drive thanks to glenrobbo!!!
We followed his perfectly executed directions and only got lost once, and that was with glenrobbo leading the way!!!!

We did have to turn back on ourselves once when we came across a rather large truck, pulling a very large piece of equipment, stuck on a rather sharp bend, with a very sharp gradient to it!!!
The stink of burnt clutch and rubber was quite overwhelming!!!
"Okay chaps, which way now?!?"

Once a suitable direction was chosen we set off again and I managed to get a picture I've wanted for a while, Ivor at the Cat and Fiddle!!!

Winnats Pass is just stunning, both to drive through and see, we were treated to a massive convoy of classic fast Fords, mostly rally cars, and at least 100 TVR's!!!

We pushed on to lunch at the Ladybower Inn where I had a fantastic chicken Caesar salad, then it was up alongside Ladybower reservoir and then finally to Monsal Head, which if you haven't been is just breathtaking!!!

I just can't thank glenrobbo enough for both organising the route and taking the time to come with us and lead the way, it's been a fantastic day of driving, sightseeing and friends!!!

Cracking photos there Bobbers and it looks like you had a brilliant day. Sorry we missed it this time, hopefully Mrs H will have her leg back together by the time the next one comes around.

We’ve been to Ladybower Reservoir before and it was absolutely packed with tourists as the flooded towns were visible. I’ve always wanted to see the Monsal Viaduct, looks like you had the perfect position.

Not me, I've been extremely busy adhering to all of the various speed limits that are randomly scattered around the Peak District, setting an exemplary example for young Bobbers to emulate.

scratchchin Do ASBO tags work on the same principle?

We've been to walk around with Wallabys today, goats, monkeys, all sorts of animals - giant rabbits as big as Elsie...

Daughter went the wrong way as we tried to navigate the many road closure due to long cross weekend (shut roads for cyclists today, marathon runners tomorrow), and in trying to do a 12 point turn, dropped the back of big blue (vw touran) into a ditch.

Luckily we blocked the road for about a dozen cars, so 12 people virtually lifted the car out the ditch and we were on out way again.

40 year-old children are not entitled to pocket money, unless they really earn it!

Can she justify her claim, _404?

I've taken EB & poor FrankieDoggie for a decent walk around Poynton Park and alongside the lake this evening.
Frankie loved it! lovecloud9

Morning all, they are running a marathon past the house this morning so roads closed, so we'll wait until this afternoon to go anywhere, just stay local.

We'll get the usual fun of vehicles taken that haven't heeded the no parking rule...
Rained overnight so it's cooler

Good morning.
Thanks for sharing the photos Bobbers as I’ve been thinking about you lot this weekend.

I spoke to my son yesterday! First time in 11 years so I’m made up.

Warm weather forecast at last! Nearly into July and it seems like autumn here. Should have around 30 degrees by midweek.
I may cut some hedges and grass this week for a change.
