Back in the day I did quite a bit of business with a firm called Vintage Wings. They occupied a rambling old mill building in Delph, just outside of Oldham. The place was a hive of activity, fabricating all manner of panels and bodywork for vintage and classic vehicles.
On one visit the proprietor, Phil Sergeant, mentioned that they were doing the bodywork for Babs. This would have been in the 1980s IIRC, but I did not see the car.
Marvellous. IIRC they saved as much as possible. If a panel was corroded all round its edges, they would offer it up where it should sit on the car and create new sides and ends to weld on. A labour of love.

Good morning. Today I shall look at fast cars and eat brunch with friends. Yey!

Fun fact: I appear to be greying on the right side of my head, but not the left. I don’t think it’s a trick of the light. Odd.

Happy Saturday!
You've not been spraying anything with grey primer, have you old boy?

Morning all!

Absolutely pooped after a hard week, so a weekend of doing SFA beckons, unless the Management determines that things need to be done. And that they must be done NOW.

Maybe I’ll go and see some schlock like The Expendables at the cinema. I presume there’ll be rugby on, too.

Morning all.

No parkrun today, managed to put a minor tear in my calf.

Instead I'll put primer on the door I've repaired and hang it back in place

The reason I asked was many years back, a friend of mine was "doing up" an old Mk1 Escort.
Sprayed the bugger orange, he did. When he'd finished performing with his spray gun, half his head had turned bright orange.
Looked like some sort of half arsed punk rocker smile

Today i am suffering somewhat, yesterday finished with flu jab in one arm and covid booster in t’other.
Sore arms will be the order of the day today

Oh well, mustn’t grumble
Two weeks ago the Practise Manager phoned me to say that my GP had requested on 16th August that she arrange an urgent appointment for me to have my covid booster jab. ( She apologised for the delay but she had been away on holiday.)
She explained that the doctor wanted me jabbed up with both covid and flu asap, but they weren't expecting to get supplies of the new vaccine until 22nd Sept.
I was reluctant because I was concerned that it might further delay my imminent by-pass op if I was feeling under the weather when/if my turn came.

I definitely didn't fancy having the flu jab again because last year I had my heart attack just 5 hours afterwards!
She said that was merely a co-incidence.
I said "How can you possibly know that for certain? As an administrator, are you medically qualified?"
Anyway, I agreed to attend for the covid booster, and she booked a provisional appointnent for me for Saturday 23rd Sept, when the covid vaccine would be available.
This was confirmed by MMS on Wed 20th
Yesterday evening I received another MMS confirming my appointment today.
For the FLU jab. frown
I shall trot along before the appointed time and have a little chat with them.

We'll see what happens...

Have a nice day, y'all! wavey

hehe Smooth! No primer for me, just the passage of time. Grateful, to be honest, as the alternative is not preferable! smile

If it's bewed in NZ, is it really a Belgium beer? or a Belgium style beer?
Must admit though, our frequent trips to Antwerp means I've a real taste for the stuff now.

My old dad was hardly ever poorly, but he once had a bad reaction to a flu jab.

Sick as a parrot, he was, Brian.

Doctor told him never to have a flu jab again.

Three days of feeling like five miles of bad road, every bl**dy time.
Giving it a miss this time around.
My mate the Geezer has the Chinese plague right now but he reckons it's no more than a spot of man-flu these days. It's just a background fact of life now.
But I still won't knowingly buy anything Chinese.

Goooooooddddd Morning Trivetnaaaaaammm!!!

Yes, as well as binge-watching The Thick Of It, I've also been watching Sky's Documentary series of the goings-on in Vietnam and the White House during the 1960's. It's what Malcolm Tucker would describe as an omnishambles and a complete clusterfk.

ION, I made a gnurly start this morning, and went to Lymington for a walk around the Marina and a mooch around the market. And a drive through the New Forest, which is at its most beautiful on a sunny early Autumn morning, such as today's. Not a donkey to be seen, but plenty of beefs and horses, and a low-lying mist over the heather on the heathlands. Perfect. Although the potholes could do with some attention.

Back home now, coffee and a nalmond croissant, before cricket and rugby.

Somebody has to do it.

Gluten morgens meine liebschens…..

Last full day in the sun here in the beautiful Tenerife. Our flight is not until 21:15 tomorrow evening with arrival in Toonland around 01:30. Lying here in a cabana overlooking La Gomera and the swelling ocean. It’s blue, blue and blue. As it’s Saturday the locals are out fishing on the black volcanic rock. The waves are crashing into the island making rainbows and white sprays with mist.

I’m going to miss the place when we leave, still only 8 weeks until we are back again with the outlaws. Same place, same hotel, just a little bit cooler.

I had number 6 yesterday, i cannot afford to risk the consequences after having the covpoxlurgy twice now. Last three jabs have just left me with a dead arm
