I think we all agree that the simple habit of eating less,

Unless this is bad medical advice, is it inherently dangerous
To reduce calorie intake and exercise more ?

Who is that fat bast*rd ?

[Alexei Sayle]
I'm making the (perhaps unfair) assumption that our friend Blown2CV is himself a bit of a chubster.
yea i've struggled with my weight all my life, as have most people who actually know about this stuff, and it has been really hard and made harder by stupid diet advice, so thanks for making fun of that.

French actress, singer, model and 1960s icon Francoise Hardy passed away at 80. For us petrol heads of a certain age, her most well known appearance was as the "groupie" - and Nicola Barlini's "sort of" girlfriend - in the movie "Grand Prix".

They have the best bit of dialogue in the whole film.

No prizes for guessing whose helmet she's wearing.
Thanks Eric. Now I know who they were talking about on the radio this morning. They played a little of her music, but it was only vaguely familiar.

Back on topic.

Larry Page, pop singer (Larry Page the Teenage Rage), Manager (the Kinks, The Troggs), record label owner (Page One Records, Penny Farthing Records), producer (inc. Blue is the Colour, the Chelsea 'anthem'), own orchestra (The Larry Page Orchestra), among other things!

Died 18th April, aged 87, apparently. Not widely reported.
I had heard of him via the Kinks connection and as you say not widely reported
Page should shoulder a large part of the blame for The Kinks disastrous 1965 American debut tour,
the following wilderness years denied them a part in the lucrative British Invasion
and saw them effectively banned from the USA till 1970.

Ah, no. That's James Garner. He died about ten years ago. But I can see why you'd get confused.

Chuck Roberts. A nicely niche noteworthy one, probably unknown outside of House music, but to those that understand ‘In the beginning there was Jack, and Jack had a groooove’ he probably elevated your night!
