The making of a space marine.
[pedantmode] That's not accurate if it's meant to be a WH40K type space marine. He has ribs for a start, and their rib cage was meant to be a fused shell. [pedantmode]

And in addition to the darkness there was also me. And I moved upon the face of the darkness.

Bomb, hey bomb.

Hey, bomb...

And I saw that I was alone.

Pause.

Let there be light.

Yes! Bloody hell I forgot all about those until you mentioned it, I'm sure I used to buy them just for the covers. Does anyone still have their copies anywhere?

I'm ashamed to say I cried as child when they were "killed" off in various mishaps.

Aha another geek. GW certainly do have a great range of sci fi IP, that leads to some great art and fan art.

I second that. I was given the first one when I was young and I managed to find the double book when I was about 30! Still looking for the other ones but they're getting very rare now.

Had a look around and found this, got some nice wallpapers on there too:

I also have a book in my possession called 'Parallel Lines' and it features loads of covers by Chris Foss as well as other artists. I've never seen this book anywhere else and a quick search for it in google doesn't throw up any results so how rare that is I don't know.

Another one here - I spent ages looking for a good marine pic yesterday for this thread. I agree, the concepts and realisation of a history, technology and even mythology are absolutely first rate where WH40K is concerned.

I was never into the games, but I used to paint a lot of figures/dioramas and whatnot as a teenager.

(I've actually been tempted to revisit that hobby paperbag Until I saw the prices of them these days eek )
