5000 dollars & added 25lbs of downforce... not bad for a bloke in a a garage.

biglaugh A bag of sand may have been cheaper then.

A million seconds is about 11 days. A billion seconds is around 31 years.

The thing that shocks me the most is that a lot of you are 'shocked' by pretty mundane things...hehe

With the people's ages thing. Wilford Brimley was 50 when he was in Cocoon.

Paul Rudd in 2019, age 50

Something I’d never have believed, just checked a map and is pretty much bang on north of Cardiff
In fact there isn't much of Scotland East of Bristol!

.... A multiple of six plus or minus 2 or 4 is even so can’t be prime. A multiple or six is also divisible by three so adding or subtracting 3 will also be divisible by 3 so not prime. Which only leaves plus or minus 1 or 5. But minus five is the same as the previous number divisible by six plus one. So effectively you can shorten it to just plus or minus one.
It's shocked me that you can write that before 7am. Hats off sir.
Just seen that you are in NZ. As you were.
NZ so last year. Now in Denmark.

You've chopped the bit of the map off where it's further south - have a look at the southern end of the Mull of Galloway. Google maps shows a northing of 54.63 - Hartlepool Golf club is 54.7, ergo further north.

FTFY

A bit of Dumfries and Galloway comes down to about 54.68 degrees North and a bit of Hartlepool goes up to 54.71 North

The body produces 100w of power an hour just on tick over, metabolic processes. The body can produce 1000w a hour under strenuous exercise, think Matrix.
The original concept for the Matrix had it using human brains as processors, which makes far more sense than using them as batteries, but it was dumbed down for the screen.

Carrying on from the OP I was shocked when A Chinese friend expressed why he grew up being told to hate the Japanese.

In WW2 they pretty much instigated their own Holocaust in prisoner of war camps murdering an estimated 10 million people. The majority being Chinese.

I was shocked that this is not broadly common knowledge in the West.

The single biggest organism on the planet is a fungus that's grown to an area of over 5 sqkm underground in the pacific northwest. The second biggest is also in the US, it's a copse of Ash trees that are all naturally cloned from 1 original tree in Utah.

...that one about grains of rice on a chessboard: if you put one grain on the first square, then 2 on the next, then 4 on the next, then 8, then 16.... keep doubling the number of grains every square... by the time you get to the top of the board that's more rice than has ever been grown or over will be.

or something like that.
