I am thinking about buying one of these cars and wondering what the reliability is like for track days and endurance racing?

The example has only 10k on the clock and is s 99 Plate.

Thanks in advance,
Rich

I've owned a Mantis GT spyder for a little under a year now, you do need to be aware that as they are after market supercharged, the engine should have a fair amount of work done to it to cope with the extra that the supercharger adds, when I got mine I knew the engine had not been done as it had not even finished being run in when I got it, so I did all the necessary work straight away. The Mustang Cobra engine used is absolutely bullet proof as long as the engine is adapted for the supercharger. Apart from the early examples where people were not aware of the potential problems I do not know of any one breaking there's, there have been a couple that have broken but there has always been a reason. They will need to run on Super un-leaded as a minimum I use Optimax but always carry a bottle of Octane booster just in case I cant get either. I have no trouble with the MoT and no cats, Oh and it should have tubular manifolds as the original spec lists, but the later ones didnt, I've just had mine changed, and boy does it make a difference. Pop on to the Marcos forum and PM me if you want any more detailed info, I dont come here very often, I was asked by a fellow Marcos P header to reply to your question, hope I havnt gone on too much.

Thank you for your reply ...

I decided to go for another car in the end since there where no Supercharged examples around that I could find :-(

Cheers,
Rich.
