the car is sold....abroad....
it has a 78 registration (from the cortina donor) and is registered as marcos.
now to some parts of the description:
"The engine is smooth, torquey, runs cool and starts every time"
"It has been well looked after and is great condition for her age. But whilst I've tried to keep her as close to 'show room condition' as I can, she is an old car. "
and here the real condition (i have viewed the car):
the enginebay electrics are a total mess, widespread relays, cables, cheapish cable shoes. some pressboard glued (!!!) inside bonnet to conduct the air onto radiator. check picture 8 of the advert (or see below), the lower area in the bonnet was blured to hide the mess.
actually the bonnet is dirty/black inside....so pictures show the car some time ago. also interior looks much more tidy than it is in reality.
the taillight covers havent been fixed properly and have been near to fall off. the engine was setup totally wrong (valve clearances from inlet and exhaust mixed), ignition timing wrong, carb wrongly setup, run totaly lumpy with flat spots and lack of performance. (anyway, a 2.3 asthmatic cologne engine will never ever have any performance)
road holding is a mess, suspension geometry not well setup.
worn suspension parts, front balljoints have some play.
a nice car from outside, paint is ok, interior reasonable, but the rest....in reality it was worth not more than 5000...but unfortunately an abroad buyer was willing to pay this overpriced sum.
the car is sold by a dealer....an underhanded dealer.
