There is a car import/sales company in Melton Mowbray Leics called Pytliks that apparently have a BRAND NEW UNREGISTERED !!! Mataray 4.0 V8 for sale, can this really be true ? I thought they had not been made for a number of years.
If so what should I consider offering for it especially as it obviously has'nt turned a wheel in who knows how long ???

Any help would be appreciated.

There were only 9 (I believe) Manatray's made and the best place to look for prices is http://www.redlinesportscars.com/marcosused.htm.

Also have a look on http://www.thequiffster.com/main.htm

Good hunting!

Also if you can get the chassis number give Rory or Emily a call at

http://www.rory.uk.com/

as they are most helpful and have the details of all cars built.

The last one built wasn't sold by the factory. It went onto redlines site and was sold a couple of years ago.
If its still unregistered then it hasnt really been driven for 8 years. It would have been finished in 2000.

Hi there,

God, can't believe that the Mantaray is still in the showroom at Pytliks.

I worked for a Kia dealership in Chilwell, Nottingham about 8 years ago and I negotiated and secured a Marcos franchise for us for Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
The nearest dealer to us at the time was Pytliks, cannot remember the guys name there but he was a nice guy. I remember putting our order in for a factory demonstrator Mantaray and also recall that the Pytliks car was the one delivered just before ours.

From memory the car is Dark Blue and an absolute stunner. I really love Mantarays and have drive all three versions (2.0T, 4.0V8 and 4.6V8).
Over the years I have been in Melton a few times and noticed the car was still in the showroom, I haven't been over there for a while though.
As mentioned above the car would have been built in 2000 so may need a good check over if it has not moved in 8 years.
If I had some cash kicking around I would go and bang on the door and see what they would sell it for.

Please let me know how you get on.

Regards

Tim

Yeh thats the car alright or should I say was the car !! Went back over there last thursday with work commitments & to have a closer look at the car only to find they have ceased trading and the showroom cleared out of not only the Marcos but a very nice MG Midget 1966 model fully restored, a nice 308 Ferrari and an equally nice Lotus Esprit, with a To Let sign on the building !!!!!

hi to all, just to advise that we (Pytliks) are still alive and kicking (www.pytliks.com)...the MantaRay is still with us, with 50 miles on clock, put on when car was shown at a Marcos Day at Donnington Race Track, many ,many years ago...its still unregistered...was factory built for us, as a show car, when we were then a Marcos Agent...when you visited our showroom we occassionally move cars to other of our buildings, so showroom probably empty...we are in limbo as far as the car business is concerned, as for the last few years we have been parallel importers of new cars only but due to the adverse pound/euro exchange rate, have mothballed for the mo...
