Aren't you more tempted by the ex-Jos TVR TRIDENT 289 V8 Corno?

BossCerbera drove the Marcos - 5.7 really - and Colombo (I have Rayns mail) worked on them.

I am sure you won't fit proper in that office. It's more cramped than your SEAC.

If I were a midget I'd rob a bank and get me that red one.

Cheers, A.

They are actually more roomy than you think, I drove the grey prototype on a couple of occasions, once for three hours.

That is one of the "production" cars, with the thinner uprights by the radiator intake, and the late interior switches. As a guide, the list price for the car with the option pack (before the madness of the last couple of months) was IIRC £55,000. My only concern (and if I had the money I'd be buying it), would be whether any accident damage could be repaired.

There are more than enough specialists around to do the interior, and the motor shouldn't give you any trouble at all.

And you'll get LOTS of thumbs-ups as you ride around, I can tell you.

£40K ! Blooming heck. The cars at auction went for less than that but quite some margin.
A rare beast.
But £40K !

Yes, but they were the prototypes, not production cars.

hehe

At least that car won't have been stripped and re-assembled a couple of dozen times.

Well worth looking at very rare car, easy to service well built with minor niggles very very quick car . The cab is snug untill you get settled but once in very comfortable and im over 6ft tall but slim.Ive done nearly 20k miles in mine- driven accross Spain & Le mans twice (with tent, sleeping bags, chairs etc) Im sure the price would be negotiable for a serious buyer with D G.

As I said, if I had the money, I'd be there by now.

It struck me as such a pity. Tony invested a lot of time and money in this project, and walked away when 98% of the work was done. He is not stupid, so what was going on behind the scenes?

When I was introduced to the Marcos, it was only a couple of tweeks away from being exactly what the target market (as I took it) was looking for.

My take was that the car being preferred was the coupe, when the target market would have wanted at least, the T-car. I know I preferred the soft-top, even though it rattled like a dozen bags of spanners in the back of a pick-up going along the rough section of the M42.

A definite case of close, but no cigar.

Me? in the same situation, (not knowing how much had already been spent), I'd have stuck a convertable, in metallic red or blue as a demonstrator, and seen what happened. But I would not have had the "anorak" type linings to the drive tunnel, and a full leather interior.
