Calling Mantis owners...
Discussion
All, I've fancied a Mantis for years... but my other half has never been keen. However, she's agreed to at least look at one with an open mind.
TIA

Seriously, if you can find one a reasonable distance from home, we'll go and look this weekend. With an open mind, I promise. But just to look, not to buy, ok?
So is there anyone close to Northampton that has one, that could spare an hour over the weekend..?TIA

Ohmygoodgodholycrapinbudgetwetem...Where are they based..?
I originally thought they were near you in Bicester for some bizarre reason. Which is why I mentioned them. I gather from the phone number it is somewhere near Bath, so not much help.
Not an easy car to find though, have a chat with the guys on http://p206.ezboard.com/bmarcossportscarenthusiast...

There are basically two companies that sell the original Marcos.
Redline in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. Give Jeremy Kearnes a call.
Paul Stephens in Cambridge: http://www.paul-stephens.com
Although Paul Matty in Birmingham http://www.paulmattysportscars.co.uk recently sold a Mantis
Alternatively, post on the forum as often cars change hands without being advertised.
The Mantis is one of the wide body cars and there were only 80ish made. If you want wide body and greater rarity then try the LeMans (LM) there were only 20 LM500's made (probably less than 15 still in the UK).

Hi Guys, New member just reading through your mail. I used to live in Northampton & i know of about nine Marcos in and around Northamton two of which i beleive to be Mantis. Mantara, Mantis & Mantaray are becoming increasingly rare as like a lot of original cars, they are taken off the road for a rebuild & quite a few never seem to make it back. I own a Mantara & having owned five Marcos of different models i find that the Mantara is one of the easier to drive and more reliable cars to own. Apart from the excessive bulges you find around the LM'S & Mantis, the general driving experience & interior set up is not that far apart. So i would if i were you consider looking at the Mantara as well.
