Hi Geeman. Great news clap As you say, well worth a post from someone. I have posted your message on the Marcos Enthusiasts site. It wouid appear that most Marcos owners stick to that site rather than posting here as well which is why the Marcosi appear to come accross as a bit reticent.

Hi Geeman. Try http://p206.ezboard.com/bmarcossportscarenthusiast...

If That fails go onto the ezboard and search for Marcos Sportscar Enthusiasts.

There is also a link on the Club Marcos International website under the reference to "the Quiffster" on the related sites section.

You've also got to remember that most marcos owner are older blokes.
We're not ancient but 35+ seems to be right.
Most of em don't use the marcos forum, or forums in general for that matter.

And we'd have smashed the weaving looms too smile

According to the Goodwood Revival website the Fordwater Trophy results were: -

Fordwater Trophy
1. Don Salvage – 1965 Griffin – 1.29.528
2. Jamie Boot – 1965 Griffin – 1.28.768
3. Bill Wykeham – 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB/C – 1.30.603

So it appears that Daftlad may be right.eek

As far as the computer literacy of Marcos owners is concerned. The fact that we tend to post on a different message board (where we can indulge in one finger typing in private)should not be taken as an indication of a lack of computer literacy.wink

Wonder serioulsy though, just how many Marci' are used on our roads.

My mate bought a late 60's ford powered One in the Eighties, on the strength that his boss had One.

full of good intentions (but fast running out of a windfall) it ended its days in a council garage,
which ultimately the landlord cleared when the rent dried up.

I very seldom see a Marcos on my travels
and wonder where you all lurk, frankly I was slighlty suprised to find an apparently occupied forum on PH one day, browsing around,

wouldn't mind a gawp around a car sometime, do ouy have any meets in Northampton area

Hi Rich

There are a couple of Marcos that I know of over in the Northampton area but if you are in the Midlands Area the best bet would be the annual Kit Car Show at Stoneleigh. There were over 20 cars on the club stand this year. The other big Midlands turnout is normally the Silverstone Classic (usually July). You will get to see most of the Marcos range at either of these events.

Hi Guys. Just joined your forum. Now, I am a long lasting Marcos owner & have until recently been living in Northampton. As far as i know there are nine Marcos in & around the Northamton area & and more spreading out towards Bedford & Huntingdon where i now live, I've owned six cars since i was twenty something & currently own the last Mantara to be registered. All but one have been different models. Surprisingly the very first Marcos i owned has recently, after disappearing off to various parts of the country reappeared about five miles from where i lived in Bedford. All right i am now in my fifties, as are quite a few other Marcos owners, & about 50% have owned & still own & drive the same car they have owned since they were in their twnties, which goes to prove that unlike the Marcos company the marque never dies!
