“This car has got to be quintessentially British,” Mr. Stelliga said at the time. “Everybody around the world has this resonance with British sports cars. It’s got to sound British. It has to have the big British muscles on the back. It’s got to have the E-Type Jaguar front end.”

Are all Americans obsessed with things older than themselves? Why is a 200 year old building something to emphasise? ...and also, did anyone else find this article slightly patronising? ...or do I have a complex?

Anyway... good to hear about the long order book. Anyone know how long?

Currently 20 weeks but my guess is that due to the long waits, delivery slots might have become inconvenient for some people which might enable the odd queue jump.

The thing about Marcos is that it's got more than just the UK primed as a market.

You have a complex. There just aren't many places in the USA that are 200 years old. Just proof that our culture isn't as deep as the UK, nothing more.

Curious about the order book as well.

No, I like younger women...

Wonder how long it will take until the first Marcos reaches the shores of the USA? TS has a home about 3 hours south of me so I'll be waiting.

Now just look at that one being classic.

clap

It may take some time to get the cars right, but when they really are: Marcos is gonna benefit from that for a very long period of time.

And more important, the customers will too.

Spot on colour there . . . lottery svp.

Funny you should say that.

I suggested to Tony that the prototype colour was not strong enough, and that the next factory car should be either electric blue or dark metallic red. The silver of the prototype blended into the tarmac too much.

When Lorraine saw the colour, she said exactly the same (except with a few more expletives). That's two of us waiting for the right numbers!

To my untrained mind, there are just enough cues to Marcos' heritage, and just enough to say this is the future.

Now, where are my shades?

Been told the cost will be $80,000 less engine/transmission in the USA.
Could someone please tell me why they can't price the Marcos above the Cayman and below the Carrera?
