Just got a first drive in a '69 marcos. Driving it for 30 mins was fantastic. The experience of being close to laying down, slightly off the road and the sound being of race car level made it an unreal experience. Very surprised to, on how easy it was to drive making you feel really part of the car.
If I thought I could get insured on it, i would be there straight away.

You probably can.
My lodger got a quote on a 86 Martina for $800 a year fully comp.
He was 21 and had been driving 6 months.

Goooooo onnnnnnnn! You know you want to! If you are anywhere near Shugborough (Stafford) on 2nd July then there will be a field full of these things for the Annual Rally.

My dad has said that he may want to come to this meet, if he isnt abroad at the time.
With insurance, trouble is I am only 18 and its on classic insurance. Does this not make it difficult for me to get on the insurance?

My Dad used to own a Marcos, & the saying then was that the suspension was so stiff that if you drove over a penny you could tell if it was ''Heads or Tails''. Do they still have the pedals that extend upwards.

The pedals do come towards you when you turn the screw. Didn't find the suspension that hard, probably better than a mini. The steering is quite stiff though. Other than that, it was very easy to drive and I've only been driving just over a year!
