Thoughts on the return of Marcos....
Discussion
I've been thinking about this for a while now...
What are everybodies' views on the company making this comeback?
And what are everyones feelings on the new car?
Is it just the same old product being pushed out, and if so, what's needed to kick it up the arse and make it a real TVR competitor...?

Mrs Podie zoomed to the stand at the motorshow (after the TVR one) as she loves the look... but still prefers the old Mantis.
As a Fordie, I recognised lots of components, although they've used Mondeo dials, but had them "recovered" - which works quite well.
I seem to recall the price was a little high for the performance on offer... but it did seem a pretty well built little thing.
Initially, the guy I spoke to (think he was the MD) was a bit off, if not a little rude... in a "you can't afford this car" type manner... although I found Mr Marsh a lot more friendly.
The car itself was quite nice... but I felt a bit cramped around the shoulders, which was a shame. Also little details needed tidying up... the door handles were old style Ford.. and should have been colour coded, if not flushed smooth with the body..
Overall, a pretty nice looking car... and I wish them all the success in the world - be great to see another Brit back!

Patience, people, patience!
The report is finished bar a final check, but it won't be going straight up on the site because we've just added the Kamala piece and Ted has to pace these things or we could have months with no road tests at all.
Like to be able to do a lot more, but can only work within Pistonheads limited resources.

For your information guys I noticed there is a road test of the new Marcos in the current (march?) issue of Top Gear magazine. Not a big fan of Top Gear magazine, but was thumbing through at lunchtime and noticed the review. On the whole the new model is well received, and i think it looks great - it's good to see a British manufacturer back and one that produces graceful designs!
A friend of a friend went for a factory test drive last week and was apparently very impressed with build, handling and comfort. He is currently asessing funds to see if he can get his name down for an early model. Hopefully i'll be able to bag a ride!
