Why buy a Marcos ???
Discussion
The 3.9. Mantaray / LM Mantula usually start with around 210 bhp (the exhaust system gives a bit more oomph than the standard) with a circa 5.5 zero to 60 time and top speed around 140 max unless it's been chipped or tuned.
My cousin had a 4.3 Chimea which I had a run in before I bought my Marcos and although the TVR was okay and felt like it woukld perform much the same I just preferred the individuality of the Marocs - plus the Marcos (3.9.) had done less miles so it ran and still does) much smoother than the bigger engined cars
Only problems I've had with mine have been minor electrical glitches in the loom all of which should have been picked up in normal servicing. I took mine to a Land Rover specialist who has the manufacturers laptop diagnosis kit (it plugs in to a white three pin plug coming from the ECU behind the dashboard) and from there he found a short in the loom which was an easy fix. Since then the car's been great.
Although the 4.6 accelerates noticeably faster in the 50-70 range rumour has it the 3.9 is the one to have for long term contented use and minimal grief and so far I can confer with that.

Sadly, my Mantara V8 is for sale. We've bought a house but have no place to keep it. I've had it for about 3 years and it NEVER let me down, even drove to Alicante and back in it.
It's the green one for sale at Jeremy's (www.redlinesportscars.co.uk). If you want some more details of it then PM me, no problem. Mine makes a seriously nice noise, has the later 17" Mantaray wheels and has the RPI Optimax chip so it's probably running about 220-230bhp.
