Can I fit a brake servo?
Discussion
New to posting so plse be gentle!
I've a 2.8L Martina, but it needs "significant" brake pressure to stop it rapidly. It has no servo, the brake master cylinder has "Girling 74660294.8.0325" cast on its side, and a red plastic band with "66197 0238/62 440X" embossed on it. Brakes are bled, pads and discs are new and run in.
Question is: does anyone know if I can fit a servo to this master cylinder (if so, off what car?), or should I ditch it and find another master cylinder/servo (but which one?) and fit that?
All advice welcome!

Hi,
That does not look like the usual brake/clutch/accelerator pedal assembly as used by Marcos.
I cannot give you any guidance as mine did not have a servo but did have two master cylinders and a balance bar.
I can almost guarantee you will get several replies on the Marcos FB pages which is very busy,
Regards and good luck,
Martyn

Thanks Martyn-123 - I took the liberty of posting y query also on the marcos forum (and on buysellCortina forum as the brakes are off a Mk4 Cortina) - so have had several helpful responses. Net result is that I've now bought a servo off ebay - albeit missing the NRV and vacuum pipe adaptor! - so I'm almost there. It looks like it'll fit.
What might be perhaps of interest to you was a post to me by dparslow (on marcos forum) who is also fitting a balanced brake setup as you describe. Here's a link to his post:

I had a quick look at your website - very impressive!
Best regards, Rod
