Restoration project
Discussion
It's fate, it just had to happen, ( see previous posts )
Gone and bought a Marcos, it needs full restoration.
Just started stripping the rear axle and front suspension, I want to get the chassis rolling for ease of access.
One thing I've seen as I've started stripping it is that the front discs are vented and the callipers have been split and a block of steel placed between the two halves to accommodate the wider gap needed, is that standard practice ?
Any Marcos people in the North West ?
Too many questions to ask right now

How old is the car?
The split caliper sounds like it may be an upgrade (I can't remember the car they come off, but it's not uncommon).
If it's an '80s kit, who knows - People did all sorts of crazy stuff to them!
Have you found the Marcos facebook group - Good place for information (most of the websites are dormant now).

There will be a few Marcos owners at Tatton Park Classic Car show on the Sunday 04-Jun-2017 (the stand is near the single lane exit). One of them may be able to answer your questions... Or just come & say 'Hello' anyway.
You could also try the Marcos Forum, which some of the non-FB owners still frequent: www.marcosforum.org
Good luck.
