I may be talking bks so someone please correct me.
D&H Fibreglass bought rights to produce the Mini Marcos, realised it looked like a constipated dog trying to take a dump so got Richard Oakes to try to turn it into something pretty. He struggled because of the mechanical limitations put on him but didn't do too bad a job. The Midas was the result. Gordon Murray said it needed a flat bottom for improved aerodynamics but I may be wrong on any or all of this.
About 10 years ago, Toyota did a concept car that looks very much like a Midas and shelved bringing it to production for fear of litigation.
As I say, some or all of this may be rubbish.
The Mini Marcos is now sought after and to my eyes the Mk3 Midas looks lovely.
If you not want the one you've been offered, please let me know as I could be tempted. I would prefer a non Q plate but might be able to live with that.
