What do Marcos owners think?
Discussion
I notice most fo the comments on here are from TVR owners
(not suprising on pistonheads but....)
And they seem to like it
(not surprising as it looks like one)
But what do other Marcos owners thinks.
Personally I think it sucks.
But then i own an LM so what do I know about tasteful car design

I don't think I'd go so far as to say it sucks, but in my eyes it's moving away from being a Marcos anymore.
It's a stunning car, and I'm sure with the Prodrive tie up it'll be a superb drive, but it doesn't instantly shout MARCOS.
Comments have already been made about it's nose being T350 and Jensen, when did you hear someone saying that the nose of the LM looks like a ....
Marcos is the word I think.
There's got to be sufficient demand for Marcos to introduce a genuinely new car with the extrovert styling that Marcos is known for.
How about finally putting the LM600 on the road (in volume, before someone reminds me there is a single road going example).

If the TS and TSO can bring Marcos back to profitability, then so be it. I'll wait for the outrageous stuff later. As an owner of a 1971 Marcos GT here in the USA, I applaud Mr. Stelliga's efforts to get the Marcos name back to the forefront of performance cars. I say give 'em a chance to show their stuff. Having founded Softcom and then selling it to Intel for $500 million, Mr. Stelliga obviously understands business. It appears he has partenered with the appropriate folks in order to rebuild the Marcos name.

I agree, with out seeing the car in the flesh it is difficult to judge how good or bad. Personally, I am pleased to see the Marcos marque up and running again. Hopefully, it is a good car that lives up to it's promises - and after that who knows, they may start getting retro again - a Mantula inspired car for example. Let's face it, first the company needs some investment and stability - it is logical that potential owners may come from TVR - may be that was part of the plan.
Ok...I admit its growing on me slowly.
Still dont think its much of a marcos but I take the point of sales getting cash into the company.
I think I'll shut up moanin now until I see what the TSO LM or TSO EVO look like next year.
(and no I dont know nothing you dont...I just made them up).
Oh...and Imelda...you didnt count when you owned one
You bringing yer tractor to Le Mans this year?

Understand your views Cazzer...I own the Mantis cos it's so extreme looking, like the LM. However...I think this is really attractive from pics (which never do a car justice), albeit not too wild.
Lets face it - wild is cool, but it hasn't helped Marcos stay out of receivership several times.. think this might be a more stable way to a future?
cheers

Hmm, I'm slowly coming round to this car.
It's been my wallpaper since the launch, and the more I look the more I like.
Plus, as more and more info comes forth, it sounds as if there are future plans to produce wilder cars, they just need a solid foundation on which to build.
Good luck.
The future's bright, the future's British.

I'd be much more upset if there was no new Marcos to grumble about on the stand...........
It looks to me like a well worked out evolution of the Mantaray with more power & better finish & much better chance of selling in numbers.......
Personally I still prefer the looks of the Mantaray at the front - but the cokpit will probably be cooler with the improved air circulation in the engine bay - but I'd like to see what a flush grille on the front air intake of the TSO would look like - aka the new Lambos

At the risk of getting shot
As a Griff 500 driver, I went to the show to see only two cars in particular - the convertible Tuscan, which I think although stunning, looks possibly a bit too lovely and sleek for a badass muscle car...
and the TSO.
This may look, slightly, TVR esque with the cowled in headlights, but nowhere else really (IMHO) - I love the gaping air intake, and the rear has a definite air of Aston Martin about it.
The inside is totally opposite to the Tuscan, more in the spirit of a Griff, and I like the retro feel of it. Simple and classic.
And then the engine... it has three very obvious plus points as far as I'm concerned - it'll go like stink - sound awsome - and be virtually bomb proof.
I am looking very closely at changing the Griff next spring, and it will either be a 2 year old Tuscan S or one of these.
TO THE NICE LADY THAT TRIED TO GET ME TO SIGN UP FOR ONE LAST SUNDAY! Please get in touch as yes, on reflection I will be prepared to travel a reasonable distance to test drive one.
Now - is anyone any good with Photoshop? Can you please do me a version in pale metallic blue with cream side panel. This colour scheme looked great on the big Healey's and I hereby claim the copyright to it on a TSO
thanks

Marcos should have the Rover V8 sound like me and Cazzer! I can come to terms with the Ford Quad cam too, but I will be interested to hear the noise of the new Vette engined car. If it's like their Le mans racers, not bad, but not Marcos (yet).
Looks wise it's less and less TVR like, I would be a real possibity for a customer if it had a better looking rear end, the trad Marcos hump on the boot.
If they want me to buy one - I'll have the TS500s engine in a fixed head coupe body, or a really good hard top maybe... Never selling the Mantula though, NEVER I TELL YOU!
