Strange to see that the Marcos Engineering website is still up and running with price lists from 2007 - weird!

Interestingly Marcos Engineering Limited went bust in 2009 last activities at Companies House 2007.

Marcos Engineering Limited formed in 2011. I wonder??

Doubt if either has anything to do with the original founders Jeremy Marsh and Frank Costin but I suspect the NAME is what the new owners are after.

Still has a cachet unless like me you check. Thanks to the OP.

Still doesn't explain why you would keep a defunct website up and running for more than 3 years.

My experience of liquidations (working for various Liquidators) is that it is quite common for websites to continue unsupervised for some time after the firm responsible closes.

It is something that is often missed by liquidators. Lack of joined up thinking.

I presume the server the business was using has simply not connected the demise with the site. Does happen from time to time.

I do agree three years is surprising maybe someone is paying the fees although I cannot see why.

Intrestingly the new company is in Wiltshire. The spiritual home of the last vestigates of the original Marcos business. Companies house entry here.

Good luck to the man.

However I cannot see that the use of the name Marcos is justified.

If there is an owner of that brand still about I anticipate trouble.

Hi everybody!! As an admirer of Marcos cars, I am intrigued by some “rumors” in the internet concerning the Marcos trademark. As far as I can understand, there are at least 4 different Companies:
1) Marcos Sportscars Ltd. (Dormant). Directors: Mr AD Stelliga; Mr H Buurman. (no hope of new cars from this, I think).
2) Marcos Cars Ltd. (Active). Director: Mr. T. Brown. (has a new website, too)
3) Marcos Engineering Ltd. (Active). Director: Mr. T. Brown.
4) Marcos Motor Company Limited. (Active). Director: Mr. M. Burley.
I wonder if somebody would be kind enough to explain to me if something is really moving and if I (we??) can really hope to see new Marcos cars soon?
Many thanks
EC

Unless he has sold them, the rights to the marcos name belong to Mr H Buurman. Tony Stelliga rented/leased (what ever the term is) the name.

Hi on behalf off all those that are worried / concerned about Marcos Cars ltd Let me shed some light Marcos cars ltd is owned by Tony Brown he has built a concept car and is now building a prototype the car will be shown at the Silverstone Motor-Sport UK show later this year the car is a new concept different to the previous cars. This car goes back ford based but now mid/rear engine layout the idea is to build a race car for the road.

O k Tony Brown purchased the name and the badge [ old 69 badge ] last year this is registered with Companies House , [no arguments there ] the badge was bought the same time ,
So the answer is YES there is a new Marcos on the way AND I hope that this will put the end to all speculations WATCH OUT FOR A NEW CAR ......

OK The reason that I was mentioned as a third party is that I never wrote it it was answered on my behalf due to a lot off people speculating over the Marcos Brand I am Tony Brown I own Marcos Cars Ltd, and the blue oval badge with Marcos on it , yes its true I am putting a car together ,yes some off you might / will think that the car is ugly [ the same was said about the gull-wing car but yet now sort after ]so give it a chance and I will prove to you that the mark lives on , there are a lot off people including those abroad that seam to now/ or have a interest in what goes on I can say that I purchased the name Marcos cars ltd [the original company that spurned all the other companies] and then Marcos Engineering name due to a email that was sent tome explaining that some person was intending to use the engineering name to build a new car this company is suspended till I Dem what to do with it! and to stop any one poaching the name , I don't have the logo from the engineering company but I have the original logo as I said earlier I have spoken to those who matter and they all wish me well those who don't matter well that's not my worry is it cheers Tony Brown PS the new car will be shown soon it looks similar to the photo but as the photo was the concept car who knows what changes have bean done !!!!!!!!!!! Ask me and you will get the truth ask any one else and its fabricated !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know if, as indicated, the new Marcos sportscar has indeed been presented at the Silverstone MotorSport Show UK? By the way, their website (http://www.marcosuk.com/) still shows the covered car...

Ohh, I don't think the name and badge will help a lot to sell this vehicle.
It's totally different in style and appearance to what people expect from Marcos... redface
