Hi all,
Just trying to plan a family holiday during the second week of July '25
The request is Greek islands - Corfu as portrayed in The Durrells would be perfect.
However I know nothing (and apparently Corfu isn't quite the same as it was!) and the choice is overwhelming.
Can anyone suggest an island/area that isn't too touristy, but with a little bit of night life for the kids (19/16).
Cooking/food is a big deal, so I'm trying to find a villa/house near the sea with at least 5 beds rather than an hotel. Max accomodation budget c. £7k for the week?
Any suggestions/recommendations?

Look up Pomegranate Tree Villa in Katelios, Kefalonia. Stayed there several times and it’s 10 min walk to the sea with a dozen restaurants,2 mins walk to a local shop and perfect in every way.
That looks great - thanks Nick.

Which can you fly to from airports near you? - if you're only there for a week you won't want several hours at each end of your holiday taken up with flight transfers.
We are pretty much equidistant from Bristol, Heathrow, Southampton and Birmingham - this is another factor with too many options. Sometimes it's useful to have limited choices!

RE budget - that's the upper end, happy to spend much less and keen not to get ripped off. I've seen some real variation in prices. Grandparents are coming along too (plus I allegedly snore quite badly!) - hence the requirement for 5/6 bedrooms.

We are most definitely not a blingy family - so good location, privacy, plenty of indoor and outdoor space plus a good kitchen are far more important factors than shiny tiles and infinity pools.

Nightlife for the boys is requested, but given we're simple Wiltshire folk the acceptable bar (pun intended!) is going to be pretty low, just somewhere for them to have a few beers and feel grown-up rather than VIP areas in a swanky club.
