Spending money Barcelona
Discussion
My 13 year old is going on Thursday with her school, but because she knows everything I’m struggling to give her any words of advice.
She knows all about pick pockets, bag thieves, sex offenders, not getting lost in big crowds and buying knock-off bags from the looky looky guys.![rolleyes](/inc/images/rolleyes.gif)
She’s taking her Go Henry card and I’ll just add £20-£30 a day, if she gets mugged then I’ll stop the card from my phone in a few seconds.
Kind of hoping she sees something mildly disturbing over there to give her a reality check, bring her cockiness back to Earth.

80 euros a day
We are just back from Seville, it's much cheaper than the UK. I think the 80 Euro suggestion is about right and generous.. They won't go hungry or Thirsty. I assume this is not accomodation as well.I do however recommend some sort of in currency card though . That amount of daily cash is asking for trouble. In Seville all the restaurants preferred card when we gave them a choice but make absolutely sure you have a Euro currency card or the Bank charges mount up.

My opening gambit was Euro 50. Was I being a tight-arse?I do however recommend some sort of in currency card though . That amount of daily cash is asking for trouble. The intention is, broadly, to pay what we'd pay for them at home. More than that is down to them.

60-80 euros really should treat them well.
We have family business there (bakery and eatery), I think my greedy parents charged me around 12 Euros for a good filling breakfast a few months ago![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
Joke a side, they should be careful a bit, loads of petty crime increased recently especially in Gothic Area.

My daughter is back, she averaged £60 a day which included meals, drinks, snacks and some tat from a market.
One of the girls in the group had her rucksack opened and her phone, purse and spending money taken, but they are struggling to work out exactly where it happened, it wasn't Las Ramblas though.

Sorry to hear, as I mentioned above it's pretty bad. One of our bakeries was robbed other day, a mad guy literally just crashed his crappy scooter to the main door, broke it and stole a few things inside and run away. There was no cash inside but due to the damage, the business had to be closed for 2 days. I can clearly say, Spanish police is harsher than UK police but they are also overwhelmed by all petty crime around...

Just out of curiosity what's the Eur50 based on?The intention is, broadly, to pay what we'd pay for them at home. More than that is down to them.
I have 4 of them (all grown up now) and they never cost me anywhere near £40 a day (£1200 per month per kid
