Have been asked to do a photo job 'oop North for the Great North Run on 19th Sept. Stupidly, I agreed without first looking at a map. And now the trouble is there are 50,000 people running and everything within 50 miles is booked solid or £400

This is a one night deal, will be arriving on Saturday night and leaving before 6am Sunday morning so nothing flash please. Country pub that does good food (or similar) would be great. I don't mind going further north and coming back south

Also if anyone can recommend decent parking in N U T itself that would be just grand

Many thanks in advance smile

We live close to J59 A1M (Darlington / Newton Aycliffe) so about 30 - 40 mins from Newcastle straight up the A1. Here's a selection nearby with easy access to the A1. The Aston Hotel is literally on J59..

All sold out too, thanks very much though!

It's going to have to be a small country pub in a village somewhere
