Where to stay in/near Monaco and Col De Turini

over the border in Sanremo or Imperia? Why, thinking of doing the Monte in Jan 2011?

We stayed in Villefranche-sur-Mer (Hotel Versailles), which isn't THAT close (20mins to Monaco, 1hr to C-de-T) but is in the neighbourhood.

Menton is closer, but traffic in-and-out is even worse than the towns on the other side of Monaco.

Alternatively, consider one of the mountain villages - Eze is beautiful but very touristy and will command a premium.


All depends on your budget - anything convenient for beach/restaurants/sightseeing in that area won't be cheap.
