First of all apologies - I know their must be lots of topics on this but with the search buggered and the google option not being that specific i'm to start a fresh topic.

Who offers decent but cheap enough insurance?

I need one weeks covers for a couple in turkey.

Needs to cover personal belongings as i'll need to cover a dslr and a new iphone.

Cheers

Check out the options available on www.moneysupermarket.com

You may find it's easier just to get an annual policy than a trip now, another in 6 months, etc.

Try Atlas holiday insurance for single trips.

Look at the premium bank accounts like NatWest Gold. We have a joint account with them. Costs £12.95 a month, and you get quite a few benefits, incl travel and mobile phone insurance.

We've been with Insure&Go for some years now. Never needed to claim, so can't comment on that side of things, but their customer service has been pretty good and their policies look competitive.

I've had a few claims with Insure & Go over the years (skis nicked, car broken into and all docs nicked, wife broke an ankle). They've always been decent to deal with.

I've had the same experience on a claim with Insure and go, remarkably cheap as well. I would still be using them if I didn't get it free with a bank account.

Great call. Now the search shows up main cover plus excess as well as the cost of cover. When you actually buy most companies offer the choice of zero excess and it doesn't cost much more..worth considering.

American Express and Insure&Go. Been going with Amex last couple of trips. Never had to claim anything, so can't comment on either's service.

For the people who have claimed, did you have to produce all the receipts for the items lost ?

A friend of mine lost her luggage and some sporting kit and they insisted that every receipt for items claimed be produced - which was close to impossible.
