I know,i know, its early but i don't want to end up doing bugger all, like last year.

I've got a little window of opportunity to go away at the end of the year 29th Dec-2nd Jan and myself and the OH are at loggerheads. I quite fancy NYC,i've been before, she hasn't, but part of me thinks,is that a sufficient period of time? She wants to go to Paris, again i've been, she hasnt, problem is i hate the bloody place, but she is desperate to go. Do i buckle, give in and head off to Paris?

Or even better can somebody please suggest an alternative destination...please!

How about a traditional Hogmanay bash in Edinburgh as you appear to be struggling on the separate holiday front

I went to Paris a week or so before Christmas last year, we had a superb time though she did her usual trick of moaning through most of it and then deciding she loved it after we'd come back to the UK. rolleyes

I'd been before, she hadn't, but I like Paris so... YMMV.

I like the idea of Edniburgh, but we've literally just been there to catch some fringe shows,so that's a no go.

It looks like it will be Paris after a lengthy lunch discussion/her talking at me smash . I suppose i should give it another chance and not be pig headed, it's been a while since i went anyway and it was spring/summer.

Anything about Paris that you didn't like or found lacking that we might be able to help you out with?

I'm going New Year also, yeah it isn't cheap, i compared prices for now and then, the difference is huge. I'm staying at 'Night Hotel' www.nighthotelny.com . Reasonably priced but not cheap, not Plaza standards though! I just went on various websites, Expedia,Last Minute,hotels.com and looked what suited me best, location, price etc. I don't have any recommendations, i'd say just do your research ( trip advisor and the like ). Book now though, don't hang around. What a bloody good present though!!
