Rhodes(country) used to be. Obviously not falaraki, But Lindos(town)? Pefkos is maybe a bit too commercialised .

Went to Tinos a few years ago - very few non-greeks there, seemed to be the Greek holiday destination. Restaurant menu's only in Greek etc, and iirc the beach we went to (albeit a short walk from the town) was almost empty! (This was at the start of July).

Can get to Tinos via ferry from Athens, and its only a short ferry ride to Mykonos for the day trip to Delos (archealogical island - very interesting!).

We managed to get an air con, sat tv & swimming pool apartment for €25 a night between two of us (dare say thats gone up a bit now!)

It was a few years ago but I found Thassos to be quiet and traditional - there are a few bars, but nothing much, and it's easy to escape them. Very small island though so once you've toured round it you're done!

Check out the islands in the Ionian Sea, specifically Paxos and Antipaxos. One of them doesn't even have cars.

zakynthos (if you go to the right part) is very nice and also very close to kefalonia.

santorini very nice but black beaches, and can get very pricey.

I have to say i have never been to a greek island i've been dissapointed with it's just a case of picking the best location.

lindos as always, lindos is the hottest resort on the island apparantly, the weather is hot but bearable, august time is just silly hot. Make sure you have a walk up the acropolis if you fancy a decent view of the town. If you do it do it early morning as dinner the sun will about kill you, it did the mrs in anyway hehe

Paxos and Antipaxos aren't Ionian.

Ionian = Corfu / Lefkas / Ithaka / Meganissi / Kefalonia / Zante

OP, if you want unspoiled (from the above) try Meganissi or Ithaka although you'll have to arrange the trip yourself as we did last year. We always go to the same little town on Lefkas, and no tour operators offer packages there anymore. So we had to arrange the flight to Kefalonia, the hire car from the airport, and the car ferry from Fiscardo to Lefkas. If you want to go to Ithaka, the same ferry from Fiscardo also goes there (The Captain Aristides). To get to Meganissi, you'd have to go from Fiscardo to Vassiliki, drive to Nidri, and get another car ferry from there.

Although we've never been there, Naxos in the Cyclades island group looks your cup of tea also.

Trikeri, a little island in the gulf of Volos; has a few nice beaches, no cars(only donkeys and a couple of tractors), and a couple of tavernas. The only nightlife going is the weekly visit from the Sunsail flotilla(assuming the recession hasn't caused the Milina Sunsail base to be shut). There are some non-Greek residents, but it's still mostly unspoilt(there was an attempt at a posh resort hotel, but it went tits up). Access is probably easiest via Volos; Monarch fly there from Manchester and Gatwick.

There's not a lot to look at on the island other than the monastery, but the mainland has reasonable sightseeing.

Try the Pelion peninsula, i know it's mainland but it ticks all your boxes. You fly into Volos an unspoilt airport to! I've used Tapestry holidays a few times for beautiful unspoilt holidays to Greece and Turkey and highly rate their service and quality of accommodation.

Wedding? Very eekhehe.. There are plenty of weddings going off down St Pauls bay every year though. Nice and secluded.

Yeah it's always been warm enough for us at this time of year as a warm up for more holidays in the summer smile We always stay in the lindos view. Years ago it was the only accomodation in the resort with a swimming pool. It is probably about a 5 minute walk from town down "the big hill"(you will know what that is when you go). Where are you staying?

Yeah I've read its quite steep!

We're staying at the Atrium Palace.. Any opinion on it?

St Paul's is just one of the places we're going to look at. Probably turn into a VERY expensive holiday! hehe

You are wrong there...Paxos and Antipaxos are most definitely within the Ionian Pelagos...

Anyway, another recommendation here for both of those Islands, but why not just go back to Kefalonia and try a different resort (biased opinion!) smile

Paxos ticks all of those boxes. You have to fly to Corfu and then take a ferry. Antipaxos is VERY quiet, I haven't been for about 10 years, but I don't think there was even a taverna open at night then, certainly no clubs. It's good to be based on Paxos, and nip over to Antipaxos for a daytrip.
