Travelling through HK for 2 days on route to NZ and want to know how expensive it is...

How much is a meal out, or general shopping? Any hints and tips for HK and what can be seen and done in only 2 days?!

A 'rule of thumb' is that prices are around 75% of what you would pay in the UK, or at least that's how I saw it, and I was there for 3 years back in 2003-2006. It'll bit a 'bit' more expensive now, due to the exchange rate.

EDITED - There's LOTS to see/do in HK. If you are limited to 2 days, then a bus ride down to Stanley Market is a certainty, Top deck, front of bus, better then any roller coaster. Then you can see how the other half live in Stanley and surrounding areas (No properties less than £1million), plus there are some great restaurants for lunch.

The peak tram which goes from Admiralty up to the hills behind the skyscrapers would be good for the evening too.

Oyster bar at the top of the Sheraton Hotel on the mainland side (Tsim Sha Tsui) offers fantastic Heabour views, esp when the light show goes off at 8pm. Nice for relaxing cocktails.
