Not the angelic messenger but the northern Russian city.
Whilst I appreciate this is really a big ask of the PH collective but I was wondering if anybody has ever visited and can pass on any bits of advice beyond trying to go there in summer?
My reason for wanting to travel there is my great grandfather is buried in the CWG cemetery after being killed in 1919 as part of the BEF and I would like to think at least one family member has been to his grave.
Many thanks and any bits of info would be much appreciated, I really don’t mind travelling around but I am likely to undertake this trip on my own and would obviously need to get an interpreter / guide and its one dammed cold place a long way from home
