Hurghada Egypt - Diving Options

I have just booked a winter hoiday for the family in Hurghada on the Red Sea coast of Egypt. Whilst there I want ot do some diving I'm after some advice on options.

1 - I have a local dive school that will do a PADI Open Water course with all of the calss rooma nd pool dives and provide me with a referal for the open water part of the qualification.
2 - I could do the full course including the open water dives as well and have a full PADI certificate before I went.
3 - I could do a PADI course in Egypt.

I don't fancy spending holiday time sat in a class room so option 1 is looking favourite at the moment.

Is there anyone out there who has dived in this area with any advice for me.

There may be a better option. Email the dive school in Egypt and ask if you can do the theory online. PADI now offer elearning so you can miss the class room bits. You may still have to spend sometime in the swimming pool though to do your skills.
