Has anyone flown with them before? We're looking at booking flights to Miami and they're offering the best deal so far.

They are the same as all the other US carriers really... Jetblue is 'ok' if you get the better seats.

Their planes are old and creaky. Crew seem OK though. Don't seem to fall out of the sky too often. My experience is not that different to United overall. I would never take them long haul, just domestic US or to Mexico.

They are fine if you don't mind uncomfortable seats, paying for on-board alcohol, horrible in-flight food, no seat back entertainment. The first (and only) long haul flight I had with US Airways, included a documentary on child adoption...

Considering I'm flying LON - MIAMI and NEW YORK - LON it would seem that most advisor trying to find another carrier.

Their economy doesn't have high regard for bmi redemptions (both Star Alliance), although their trans-atlantic business is regarded as superior to United (which isn't hard) - but sub-par compared to European/Asian airlines.

Their long haul economy product isn't great - but nobody's is.
Envoy, their long-haul business class is just as good as most US carriers and better than Delta, United and American. I recently travelled from US to Munich on US Airways and Lufthansa on the return and the service comfort was pretty much identical.

Personally, I can't stand any US airline. It's quite odd, the USA do service really well in virtually everything but they can't seem to get airline service right! BA and Virgin, in my experience, tend to provide far better service. I was talked into flying American Airlines (Business Class) the other week (to NY) and the cabin staff seemed to despise the customers! It's very odd why they have that blind-spot!
