Hi All,

Although this is a holiday trip, Mrs. Ice has already decided she wants to shop as well.

So without wanting to go around all the malls.....which one should I visit and why?

I'm also in the market for a laptop.....are electricals cheaper out there ?

There are a few sales at the moment but don't expect any bargains.

+1. TBH, they are the best places to keep out of the heat at this time of year.

You could be in for a shock if you take her to the gold souk.... On the other hand you could get a fetching fake watch for not a lot. Not that my breitling is a fake of course.....;)

to be honest ive not found shopping cheaper there e.g a louis vuitton wallet i bought ended up £2 cheaper when my bill came in but buy for the experience.

just remember though all these £2 £20 that you save will not go far if collared by customs.

also burjman centre worth a trip for ed hardy

All the malls are as much if not more than the UK, pretty pointless really.

Now the rate is upto around 6AED/1GBP I find things are the same or slightly cheaper, certainly a better situation that when I arrived at it was around 5AED/1GBP!

As said above, between Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates you should find most of the things you're looking for.

Oh, as for Laptop - no point here, minimal/no saving and potential extra hassle with warranties etc.

The only thing we found considerably cheaper was diamond jewelery, but we had my daughter who lived there to help us go to the correct places as she and friends had bought before, and she knew how to haggle.
We found the best place for diamonds was the gold and diamond market, not the souk.

Cash is king.

If you pay by card then you won't get as big discounts as they all have to wait for the money to show up in the account as well as pay interest on the transactions etc.
