Going to Japan in September for GFs sister's wedding, then 3 weeks of sightseeing and visiting her parents. Last week I found some flights with JAL for around £500, checked again today and they've gone up to £800 mad

Does anyone have some good websites for finding flights? I've tried expedia and travelbag - any others?

I needed four tickets to the USA (going next week). My experience is that the longer you leave it, the more expensive they get (all the comparison sites were the same).

They started at £1600, I paid £2000 about three months ago. They are now £3600. Book them now!

http://www.skyscanner.net

Also consider indirect flights (eg Heathrow-Tokyo, via Paris, was £441 return INC TAX)

www.openjet.co.uk is another good one.

It shows you all the options for a given day, or you can search for a month and see what flights are cheapest in the month. I managed to find some flights to the US (California) for EUR 400 return back in April

Thanks for the suggestions - I would have booked earlier but my company had still not paid a full month of travel expenses after 2 months due to major incompetence punch so I was a bit short of cash.

Cheapest I've found so far with a decent airline is £640 direct with Virgin which seems reasonable.

That Skyscanner website is excellent, now bookmarked!

Yes Kayak for flights to the USA seems to be the one I'm always price-matching against. They have some phenomenal rates sometimes smile
