I'm going on holiday in the morning (travelling) and complete forgot to but a money belt for my valubles and cash. Any idea of where I could pick one of these up before closing time tonight?

Cheers!

Might you be going anywhere near an airport?

Don't bother, muggers know where they are anyway.

I got a very good one from one of the outdoor shops - think it was Blacks. They usually have them in stock.
Failing that the airport shops always have them but you will pay a decent premium over normal shops.

That's not a bad idea actually. Anywhere on the high street / supermarkets that readily stock them?

I keep everything in my front pockets, if the area's dodgy a fake wallet with a couple of old cards and some cash in my back pocket and my passport in my pants.

I don't know if it still happens but in South America muggers grab you in a strangle hold until you pass out and then pull your trousers down to get at the money belt. Coming to in a dark alley with your trousers round your ankles is (apparently) not a pleasant experience.

Just around Europe. Paris, Berlin, Prague, Munich, Milan & Barcelona.

Not risky places but I'll be in hostels and have my passport, camera and a a few hundred euros on me at some times.

Doesn't really help much but i did 7/8 months around the world - took my money belt with me - i think i wore it 3 times.

Then i did exactly what i'd do in this hell hole that we live in. I put my money in my pocket and took some care and attention of where i was, who i was with and roughly what was happening.

Oh and i didn't lose any money.

Out of interest, how are you getting to your first destination?

Flying to Paris.

Agreed, there are pikeys everywhere. Only differences are I don't usually carry large amounts of money or a passport around with me.

Thanks for all the help and advice though.

I know it wont help for this trip, but if you're worried about the passport, you can always get a 2nd copy and keep it somewhere different.

Cheers
