Ok going on holiday to spain in October with OH, we are just looking at a nice little break away from everything but are on a bit of a shoestring.

we have cheap flights, free accomodation (OH's parents) we are just looking for a car to get about. Which car hire companies are the best? well cheapest for a week? any recommendations? obviously in that area.

Cheers
Al

Try a company called 'Carjet' you can't beat them on price! I've just looked at their website and they have an office in Mercia airport.
Both my brothers and myself have used them for the last 4 years and have never had any problems.
Let me know how you get on.

carjet for me too - parents are in la zenia (down the road from murcia) and they are always the cheapest - half tank petrol rule as well so only get half ripped off...

Where are you staying ?

We went for a cheap week last year and stayed in Los Alcazares. It's reall y close to the Airport, and consequently we only did 30 miles in the car all week. A taxi would have been much cheaper.

Having said that, it was a Kia Picanta, without doubt the worst car I have ever driven ( and I've driven some crap )

I always book through Holiday Autos and end up with Auriga Crown (local spanish company) for less than £100 for the week (4 dr ac small car like a fiesta etc).

Just come back from a week there in fact, also have parents over that way.
