I am trying to plan my holiday for September and I really want to go to turkey or Egypt and I have been to turkey before and I want to do a lot of diving so I am thinking Egypt. I was explaining to the other half that if we go most the time she will have to cover it her chest/ shoulders and tops of legs out of respect of there religion and the fact that I will seriously loose my rag if she starts getting groped or touched up by the locals. I don't want to be in the position where I have a row with her or a problem with me loosing it with a local really because of her dress! now she keeps telling me I’m being stupid and she will wear that stuff and she s adamant she won't have a problem as her mate went and didn't have a problem but I am thinking she is being rather stupid and asking for trouble?
is it me being overly worried or her being silly?

If you want to visit mosques she'll have to cover her legs, arms and hair. If you want to visit markets it's wise not to show much flesh, but if you're going to stay in resort don't worry about it.

As long as women do not go topless and you wear shorts/tee shirt when out of the hotel there is no problem.

The diving is a world apart from the Med.

i am sure its fine on resorts and on the beaches but i was thinking if we vists toens and vilages and pyrimds and stuff she will need to cover up?
the main reason i want to go to eygpt rather than turkey is for the diving and to see all the normal eygpt sights and i don't want to be worried a bout what she is wearing.

Dress like a ninja. It's the only solution.

Egypt, at least in Sharm no problem, plenty go topless on the beach though in the hotel was definitely frowned upon.
Turkey, if you don't unwanted attention full tent and gimp mask at least.

A resort I've stayed at near Sharm wouldn't serve anybody who wasn't "properly" dressed - i.e no bikini tops in the restaurants - a t-shirt or similar must be worn. No football shirts or "offensive" t-shirts either for blokes.

Been to the Maldives & they used to give women a warning for going topless - 2 warnings & they asked you to leave! Although to be fair there were a lot of ugly women there so it might not just have been a religion thing.

p.s your missus will get harassed if you go to Naama Bay at night. It's a sthole though so just dont bother.

we have decided to go to turkey now rather than egpt due to budget and stuff. the main thing i was worried about is i will loose it if someone starts touching up my other half and i just don't need that on holiday.

Shame as they will let you fondle their camel in return.

Have you ever fondled a camel??
