Stayed here numerous times - not sure of the exchange rate at present but a decent room was c.£50 per night.
The location is good, it's clean and the staff are friendly. Will probably have a couple of nights there in August before heading down to Phuket.

which is on another level when compared to the above but is considerably more expensive.
Guess it depends on whether you're just going to be sleeping there or if you want to lounge around a pool. If its the latter then the Shangri La, Sheraton or Oriental would be my choice.
