Hi,

While on holiday in the states my wife fell ill and had 2 trips to US hospitals (Please can I advise anyone going to Florida to AVOID Heart of Florida hospital like the plague and use Celebration hosipital).

I didn't mention to my travel insurance people that my wife had been to the doctors for something which was related to the reason we needed to go to hospital. This was a completely honest omission.

The hospitals have accepted our insurance details to cover the bills (exceeding $35k). They now need to get our medical records from our GP and I am worried that the claim will now be invalid.

My quick questions are

1. What happens next? I presume that they will contact me if they feel that the policy was invalid.
2. How do the insurance companies try to get the money to cover their expenses from you?

This is worrying the hell out of us as I briefly remember mentioning something about her condition to the insurance company.

Thanks in advance.

Who's asking for the medical records?

The Insurance Company or the US Hospital?
