Guys, me and the Mrs have two days off and we wanted a one day stop at a beach front (or near) on the 30th July. Its got to be baby friendly as this is our first venture away with Junior (8 months). The Mrs really wants to spend a day or two on the beach with Junior.

I live in Nuneaton, Warks and budget on the hotel around £80 for the night. After somewhere peaceful with good places to eat. Things like Blackpool, Rhyl are a no no. Don't mind travelling about 3 to 4 hours.

What can you recommend? We normally go abroad but because of the baby that isn't an option for a while.

Why not?

We took our son away to Lanzarote at 7 months, no issues at all. Wife's cousin took 2 year old and baby to NZ!

For one day?

I'd aim for one of the quieter Welsh beaches, perhaps somewhere around the Lleyn Peninsula.

Maybe not for one night - but that wasn't the point wink

Easy to get to South Wales from Warks - beyond the end of the M4 that is. Tenby etc

I'll second that, you should head up to Abersoch. You are pretty much guaranteed good weather up that way too!

You could consider Anglesey.

Outside of the school breaks the place can be quite pleasant. Llygwy beach does a fair impression of golden sand (or did the last time I was there) and £80 a night should find a decent B&B/small hotel to stay in.

It is not chav free, I fear. BUT outside of the school breaks is much quieter and has never been as popular as the resorts along the coast closer to England.

Ahhh. Re-read your post. 30th July. Sorry. Can't advocate Anglesey in the school holidays. It will be far better than Rhyl and Prestatyn but that's not saying enough.

Persuade your Mrs to go somewhere else. Stuff the beach. yes
