First Choice do flight only from Birmingham to Sanford and also Cardiff.
Economy leg room is also better than BA or Virgin and have seat back tv.
cheers I'll look.Economy leg room is also better than BA or Virgin and have seat back tv.
As for hte Economy seat room I found it was not. I've done FC, BA and Virgin and found both the latter to have much better leg room. I upgrade on FC but never needed to with BA or Virgin

if you already have specific dates in mind you may struggle I think - most of the charter companies only seem to go a couple of times a week, so it would be a case of going through each of the routes or looking further afield such as Manchester.
Otherwise I fear, as we were recently you may be stuck with Gatwick.
Would it be an option to get a short flight to schipol or similar for a connecting flight. Makes the journey back a bit of a b
h still though.
Thomas Cook do flights I believe - might also be worth checking out East Midlands.

Seemed to show all the routes from A to B in a nice simple format!
If you can make it to Manchester, Virgin do direct flights to Orlando. Travel City Direct do direct flights to Sanford, but usually only on Fridays and Saturdays.
I've done both and would rather Virgin mainly because of the baggage allowances that you have to pay extra for on Travel City. I do prefer flying into Sanford though as its much less busy than Orlando and they don't have a rat trap of toll roads to negotiate when exiting the airport.

The fast route from Sanford to tourist areas of Orlando(SR417) has a bunch of tolls on it. Likewise it is easy to avoid the tolls on the Beachline (528) around OIA if you are motivated to avoid forking out two bucks. The problem with Sanford is that it's a pokey little airport, miles away from where the tourists want to be. The on-airport car rental companies are kind of limited in their choices too. You're far more likely to get fobbed-off with a PT Cruiser or a Sebring at Sanford than at OIA.
I usually take the I4 down from Sanford, really easy to get to. The problem I had with Orlando and the 528 are the unmanned toll booths. Not really a problem if you know where they are and have correct change or a Sunpass, but they can be a headache when you are just flying in, tired, unfamiliar with Orlando Intl and have no change. As a result I got nailed and 75 cent toll grew into a $10 penalty charge.
Poor form having the major route out of a major tourist destination airport as a toll road and one with unmanned booths at that. Not the case with Miami or Ft. Lauderdale, so shame on money grabbing Orange County.
Been to Sanford 3 times now and always been happy with the choice of cars, Dollar agent even went out of their way to get a 300C moved to the front of the cleaning bay when I said I would really like to have one. If Virgin or another major airline flew direct to Sanford it would be my first choice. Pokey little airport means no crowds or queueing up for trains/monorail thing to get you to the terminals. Even the car rental process required one elevator to the check in desk, then another one in the parking garage to a second desk to get your keys.

Orlando International can be a pig.
I am in Florida at the moment and this time got off the plane first straight through immigration, got bags straight away, did not use complementary bag check in and was at the car rental desk within 10 minutes. Of course that is where it all went a bit useless and I will sign up to a privilege card or whatever next time so I can jump the queue.
We got here from Gatwick with Virgin.
