chic boutique hotel Ibiza or Mallorca?

Right, in order to please the missus (a penance worth paying from time to time in order to keep the track day account in credit;) I'm planning a few days away in either Mallorca or Ibiza. We've stayed a few times at Son Brull which we rate really highly and would be the benchmark against which we compare any alternative but I'm opening this up to the genies of PH to see what other options folk might recommend.

In Mallorca we're thinking about Hospes Maricel as an option. We're after sofistikated chic, no kids, good food and not fussed by nightlife - just somewhere to escape and chill. Anyone care to come up with any suggestions?

Would Pikes in Ibiza fit the bill?

You can lounge about in the pool where a very famous pop video was made.

The drinks arent free though...

I hadn't spotted Pikes before - will investigate. Les Terrasses looks good. I must admit, we tend to head straight for Mr and Mrs Smith as a starting point. thanks.

El hotel in Ibiza is pretty cool, and if you feel so inclined you can saunter over to Pacha as you've already paid your way onto the guest list.

My favourite hotel in Mallorca, I have been 3 times and would highly recommend, it has a very famous owner as well

We've booked several nights with them this summer, and certainly online the hotels look stunning - I'll tell you in September what they were like in real life!

thanks for the further replies. Had looked at La Residencia but I'm not convinced - I've heard some hit and miss reports depending on which rooms you get. Deja is nice though. I like the look of some of those Ibiza recommendations....might look further at them.

Chatting to a friend today who told me he stayed last year for two nights. Crap room barely able to swing a cat, 985 euros a night!. Ordered a chesse sandwich that wouldve disgraced a Motorway cafe for 25 euros...

Hmmm.... sure it's the same hotel?? We stay in a suite there when we go and its not that expensive per night. I'm not being funny but I don't think you can pass judgement unless you have been....
